Kwara PDP urges AbdulRazaq to take immediate action as the opposition party called on Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to secure the release of 176 women and children reportedly abducted from Woro community in the state, saying the governor’s campaign activities have intensified while residents face growing insecurity.
According to reports monitored by Valid9ja, the Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expressed concern over the worsening security situation, urging the governor to adopt urgent measures that would ensure the safe return of the victims.
Valid9ja gathered that the party referenced the recent rescue operation carried out in neighbouring Oyo State, arguing that a similar level of commitment and coordination should be deployed to rescue those abducted in Woro community.
Kwara PDP Urges AbdulRazaq to Prioritise Rescue Efforts
In a statement, the PDP said the continued captivity of the victims has left families in distress and created fear among residents of the affected community.
The party urged Governor AbdulRazaq to work closely with security agencies and relevant stakeholders to strengthen rescue operations and restore public confidence in the state’s security architecture.
Information obtained by Valid9ja shows that the opposition maintained that protecting lives and property remains one of the primary responsibilities of any government, stressing that every effort should be made to bring the abducted victims home safely.
The PDP further argued that the reported success recorded in Oyo State demonstrates that determined leadership, effective intelligence gathering and collaboration among security agencies can produce positive outcomes.
Party cites Oyo rescue operation
While commending the security agencies involved in the Oyo rescue operation, the Kwara PDP appealed to the state government to study the approach adopted and implement similar strategies where necessary.
The party maintained that the security of rural communities deserves urgent attention, especially as incidents of kidnapping and violent attacks continue to affect several parts of the country.
Security concerns dominate political discussions
The appeal comes at a time when security has become one of the dominant issues in Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of future elections.
Political parties have continued to debate governance, public safety and leadership, with many insisting that governments at all levels must intensify efforts to tackle insecurity.

Observers say addressing insecurity effectively could significantly influence public perception of governments and political leaders in the coming years.
The Kwara PDP urges AbdulRazaq to appeal, underscoring growing concerns over insecurity in the state. As families continue to await the safe return of the 176 abducted women and children, stakeholders are calling for swift action, stronger security collaboration, and decisive leadership to ensure the victims are rescued without delay.
